Pioneer Center for Human Services

Pioneer Center for Human Services’ mission is to help people live dignified lives of well-being, independence, and inclusion. They value a culture where the interests of the people served are at the center of all they do. 

Pioneer Center offers residential, community-based, and day services, as well as employment assistance and recreational activities. In addition to these services for individuals with developmental disabilities, Pioneer Center also provides Behavioral Health Services, including therapeutic services for children, teens, adults, and families. They approach all levels of care – prevention, crisis intervention, outpatient, and residential programs. Programs are available throughout McHenry County and the surrounding region. Pioneer Center also aids McHenry County individuals and families experiencing homelessness through emergency shelter and support services to empower successful outcomes. They focus on the well-being, safety, and security of those they serve to advance their goals and achieve sustainable independence with education, job readiness, and career pathway programs.
